How to Set Up a Portable Flower Wall Backdrop

We always stay up to date with the latest and greatest event decor trends, and one of our current favorites is a flower backdrop! From baby showers to weddings, these impressive backdrops can be used to breathe life into any event. They’re perfect for behind head tables, dessert tables, or even as a photobooth backdrop.

We carry two different silk flower wall panels: hydrangea and roses with hydrangeas. They’re available in nine different colors and start at less than $20 for a 16″ by 24″ panel.

In this three-step tutorial we’re going to show you an affordable and portable way to set up our popular flower wall panels. Although we use a plywood panel in this tutorial, you can hang our silk flower wall panels directly to stationary walls using hooks, nails, staples, or thumbtacks.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Before You Begin You’ll Need…

• A portable wood backdrop wall
• Clear or green thumbtacks/push pins
Faux flower wall panels
• (Optional) Additional decor and florals that match your event’s theme

Step One: Arrangement

Start arranging your flower panels on top of your wood board. Once you have each panel in a spot you like, make multiple thumbtack notches so they’re easier to push in once you’re ready to pin your panels down.

When planning your board layout make sure your flower panels cover the entire surface so you can’t see the wood underneath. Our board in the video above perfectly fits four flower panels, but if your end flower panel is too big for your board you can easily cut it using scissors.

Step Two: Pinning

Once your wood board is prepped with thumbtack notches start securing your silk flower panels down to your board. To do this simply take a thumbtack and push it through the flower panel’s plastic net and into the board. Repeat this process several times along the edges to ensure your panels stay in place throughout your event.

For extra panel reinforcement we suggest also placing a few thumbtacks along the inner paneling.

Step Three: Add Additional Decor

This step is optional, but you can add different flowers, greenery, and decor to your wall once all of your flower panels are attached. Adding additional decor can help reinforce your event’s theme or color palette while making your overall design stand out.
