Velvet Stretch Spandex Banquet Chair Covers

Velvet Stretch Spandex Banquet Chair Covers combine the fitted shape of a spandex cover with the soft texture of velvet. Each cover is made from spandex with velvet at approximately 220 to 230 GSM and is designed to fit round-top and crown-top banquet chairs. Deep foot pockets hold the cover in place during the event, and the wrinkle-free fabric does not need ironing before setup.

How Velvet Covers Differ from Standard Spandex Covers

Both styles stretch over the chair frame for a close fit, so the main differences are texture and fabric weight. Our standard spandex banquet chair covers use a 90% polyester and 10% Lycra blend at 200 GSM with a smooth finish. The velvet version is slightly heavier at approximately 220 to 230 GSM and has a plush surface that adds visible texture to rows of seating.

Choose velvet when you want the chairs to contribute depth and richness to the room, such as at formal dinners, winter weddings, or evening galas. Choose standard spandex when you need a wider color range or a sleeker, flatter look.

Checking Chair Fit Before You Order

These covers are made for round top and crown top banquet chairs. They will not fit folding chairs. For reference, these are the banquet chair dimensions listed in the CV Linens™ size guide:

  1. Round Top Banquet Chair: 38" total height, 15" chair back width, 20.5" chair back height, and 15.5" seat width.
  2. Crown Top Banquet Chair: 38" total height, 16" chair back width, 19" chair back height, and 16" seat width.

If your venue uses square top banquet chairs, folding chairs, or Chiavari chairs, browse our full range of chair linens for covers made for those frames.

Choosing a Color

This collection includes velvet covers in black and burgundy, along with additional shades. Black works as a neutral base for formal and evening events and pairs easily with metallic accents. Burgundy suits fall weddings, holiday parties, and wine-toned color palettes. For more burgundy seating options in other fabrics, see our burgundy chair covers.

Availability can change by color, so check each product listing for current stock before planning a large order.

Styling Velvet Covers with Your Tablescape

Velvet has a matte, textured surface, so it often looks best next to smoother or shinier fabrics that create contrast. A few ways to build the setup:

  1. Start with a neutral base. Choose tablecloths in white, ivory, or champagne so the velvet chairs stand out around each table.
  2. Repeat the chair color. Add table runners in the same shade as the chair covers to tie the seating and tables together.
  3. Balance the place settings. Fold napkins in the chair cover color or in a lighter accent shade.
  4. Add some shine. Set charger plates in gold or silver under each place setting for contrast against the velvet texture.
  5. Finish the table. Choose centerpieces sized for your table so guests can still see each other across it.

Setup and Care

The stretch fabric slides over the chair back and down to the legs, where the foot pockets secure the cover at each leg. Because the material is wrinkle-free, covers can go from storage to the chair without ironing, and they are easy to remove after the event.

To preserve the velvet texture, machine wash with care and avoid bleach. Store clean, dry covers folded in a cool, dry place between events.
